Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], August 28: A courtesy meeting was held between Mr. Qin Yong, Deputy Consul General of China in Kolkata, and India’s karate champion Bipasha Pal, ahead of her participation in the forthcoming Asian Karate Championship.
Bipasha, trained by Hanshi Premjit Sen, is a decorated athlete with titles including National Champion, South Asian Karate Champion, and medals at the Commonwealth Karate Championship. Mr. Qin Yong praised her achievements and conveyed his best wishes for her success, noting the role of sports in strengthening ties between India and China.
Adding to the pride, Hanshi Premjit Sen, President of the Karate Do Association of Bengal and an esteemed international referee, will also officiate at the championship. His appointment reflects India’s growing recognition in world karate.
Speaking on the occasion, Hanshi Premjit Sen said:
