New Delhi [India], March 7: Award-winning author and visual storyteller Soma Bose unveiled the cover design of her much-anticipated third book, Garden of White Roses, at a city café in the presence of her team members and publisher. Known for her evocative storytelling and deep exploration of human emotions, Soma’s latest work is a delicate epistolary novel that interlaces letters, memories, and the passage of time.

Soma Bose also had the privilege of presenting her first two books to the Governor of West Bengal, Dr. CV Ananda Bose. Dr Bose, himself an author of repute, greatly appreciated Soma’s pursuit of literary excellence and gave his good wishes for her future creations.

Following the success of her previous books, Frenny and Other Women You Have Met and I’ve Had Enough of You, this epistolary novel unfolds through heartfelt letters exchanged between a granddaughter and her grandfather. It evokes nostalgia while exploring profound themes of love, loss, companionship, and shifting relationships.

Bose once again delivers a compelling narrative that delves into themes of love, loss, companionship, and the intricate evolution of relationships. Garden of White Roses is a deeply nostalgic yet profoundly relevant novel, chronicling the heartfelt correspondence between a granddaughter and her grandfather. Through their letters, readers are transported across the corridors of Jabalpur, the coal mines of Dhanbad, and the ethereal beauty of Kashmir, unraveling a tapestry of emotions and experiences that shape human bonds.

Soma Bose is a creative writer and visual storyteller whose affinity for uncovering the extraordinary in the ordinary has captivated readers worldwide. Through her website SomTales.com, she masterfully weaves thought-provoking tales around photographs, bringing everyday moments to life with deep emotional resonance.

Soma’s storytelling prowess extends beyond literature into the realm of films, where her scripts have garnered appreciation from celebrated filmmakers such as Shyam Benegal and Shonali Bose. Her relentless pursuit of crafting compelling narratives has cemented her position as a formidable force in both literary and cinematic circles.

Her debut book, “Frenny and Other Women You Have Met”, launched at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, in April 2023, was unveiled by eminent actors Mita Vasisht and Swastika Mukherjee. This poignant collection of stories pays tribute to the silent yet significant contributions of homemakers, delving into their intricate emotions and overlooked sacrifices. The book struck a chord with readers, earning widespread acclaim.

Soma’s second book, “I’ve Had Enough of You”, was officially announced at Crossword Mumbai in November 2024 in the presence of Swastika Mukherjee, Srijit Mukherjee, Suchitra Pillai, and Joy Sengupta. This novelette explores life-altering moments when individuals, especially women, reach their breaking points. Each story intricately captures the raw emotions of protagonists navigating challenges that redefine their existence.

Recognized for her impactful storytelling, Soma was honored with the Emerging Writer of the Year in Fiction award by Ukiyoto Publication House at the Kolkata Literary Carnival. She was also invited to the prestigious Tata Steel Kolkata Literary Meet 2024 for a session titled “Like A Prayer”, where she explored themes of home, faith, and the nuanced lives of women. Additionally, she received the Shakti Samman Award for Best Author – Fiction from Rotary International.

Soma Bose’s literary contributions have earned her a place on the global stage, with invitations to esteemed platforms like the Washington DC South Asian Literary Festival. At the Writers’ Center in Bethesda, MD, on May 7, 2023, she engaged in an insightful discussion about her debut book, moderated by Rajiv Paul.

A relentless innovator, Soma Bose continues to redefine storytelling, bridging literature and cinema while giving voice to the unspoken experiences of women. As she embarks on new creative ventures, her readers eagerly await the next chapter in her inspiring journey.
